Met Monday: Our favourite looks from the 2019 Met Gala

The first Monday in May is here (or Tuesday if you’re following along in Australia) and we couldn’t be more excited!

The glitz, glam and downright insanity of the Met Gala has occupied our minds all morning and to celebrate, we are bringing you a selection of our favourite looks straight from the pink carpet.

This year’s theme ‘Camp: Notes on Fashion’ – meaning exaggerated fashion – was sure to deliver some over the top looks, and deliver it did.

Let’s kick off with a change… or four.

Lady Gaga proved she was Queen of Camp today.

Dressed in Brandon Maxwell, Gaga put on an performance for onlookers as each layer was removed by the designer himself, revealing yet another costume.

We can only imagine the time and effort that goes into one Met Gala look, let alone four… Bravo, is all we can say!

Billy Porter (@theebillyporter) on the red carpet at the Met Gala 2019 tonight. // Q: What do you think of his look? ✨

It’s already been labelled the ‘most fabulous entrance in Met Gala history’ by Vogue and we can see why.

Billy Porter’s Sun God ensemble was created by The Blonds and featured a 24 carat gold headpiece and 10-foot wings.

And did we mention he was carried in on a velvet day bed by six shirtless men?

Emily Blunt showed us she was practically perfect in every way as she stepped out in Michael Kors.

The always-beautiful Saoirse Ronan was looking hot (there really is no other word for it) in this dragon-inspired Gucci dress.

The Jenner sisters received Vogue’s tick of approval, and also ours in these feathery Versace gowns.

And last but not least all eyes were on JLo as she graced the pink carpet in Versace and a purple Harry Winston purple saphire and diamond necklace.

The list really could go on forever, but for now, we’ll leave you with the chance to see all the looks as they arrive here.
